There’s so much buzz around the recent Hollywood-Hollyweed sign change that happened on January 1, 2017 to celebrate the legalization of recreational weed in California.
But, did you know that this same prank was played 41 years ago? On January 1, 1976, marijuana was decriminalized in California and thus spurred the inspiration to alter the Hollywood sign.
While Prop 64 passed in California, and the sign was a cute, temporary celebration, it’ll be some time before recreational marijuana is truly legal. Currently, we are in the midst of a 45-day moratorium. Keep enjoying your weed, stay safe, stay smart!
