Cannabis has long held a special place in my heart. As has the world of Disney, especially the bad a** Disney princesses like Pocahontas and Merida. And often, these two worlds combine to make a truly magical time.
Not so anymore. At least if you’re inside Disneyworld and Disneyland. Marijuana has officially been added to the ‘banned’ list. Now, you’re probably wondering, “Wait a second. I could have smoked inside Disneyland before this?” I know. I only stuck to eating an edible before entering Mickey’s world. Makes it a lot easier to pretend I’m a kid and totally fine with human sized cartoon characters.
They’ll be checking for any marijuana paraphernalia during the bag check since, according to a Disney rep, “…marijuana remains illegal under federal law. We are revising our rules to clarify that marijuana is not permitted on our property.” You might even get put in the on-site Disney jail. Which I’m a little worried might actually mean being held in one of those wooden stocks in the ‘Ol West area.
So, if you do end up at Disneyland or World with a pipe or some left over bud in your purse, make sure you leave it in your car! And eat an edible beforehand so you get the full flush of Disney and cannabis magic combining.
