Cards Against Humanity: That weird card game I play while getting drunk with friends. Or stoned out of my mind, also (hopefully) with friends. Because, honestly, I can’t be that willfully meanly funny without having some type of mind altering substance. Or so I would have you all believe….
Anywho, now there is a new addition to this dirty Mad Libs-esque game, one that is specifically weed-tastic. This new deck of cards is only $5, and all proceeds go towards the Marijuana Policy Project to regulate and legalize marijuana in Illinois. CAH head writer Jo Feldman has noticed that “nationally there are more arrests for marijuana possession each year than for all violent crimes combined. The MPP has been at the forefront of changing marijuana laws for the better, in Illinois and nationwide.” This past November, the MPP even started successful legalization initiatives in several states: Maine, Massachusetts, and Nevada. These weedy additions even come in a package that looks weirdly similar to a baggie you would buy green in from a collective, all to support “the Marijuana Policy Project because our current marijuana laws are failing,” according to Feldman. This deck has 30 new cards, a few custom rolling papers, with some rad drawings on one side, to create and light up a joint (or three) before playing, and centers on supporting the stoner lifestyle rather than tearing it down.
They have done positive work in the community before. On 2013’s Black Friday, they wouldn’t sell their products online. Instead, they sent actual poop to customers who ordered on Black Friday as a sort of protest to the greediness that is the day after we give thanks for what we already have. Thankfully, according to some that ordered these poop boxes (definitely not me), the poop was dry and not terribly stinky. Weirdly enough, people paid money for their poop boxes, and they sold out before the end of the business day
After searching through countless Reddit sites and various articles about this new pack of Cards Against Humanity for customer reviews, I can only hope that the players were too stoned or drunk to post anything. But it has had an impact, having already made over $86,000 as of the beginning of August.
I’m definitely excited to roll up a joint and get my CAH weed game on with some friends! You can find the weed pack for sale here: https://store.cardsagainsthumanity.com/
